Landlord Orlický has had three failed marriages. This experience has made him a sworn enemy of all women. Only old bachelors can work on his estate, and he forces his nephew and universal heir, Ríša, to the same fate. One day, however, the uncle discovers that Ríša is secretly seeing a girl, becomes angry, and decides to remove him from his will. With support from her best friend Tamara, she meets the charismatic graphic designer Tomáš and has to face a choice.

She has no big goals in life, only girly ones. He wants to have fun and, most importantly, make some money fast and get married. In his new environment he has eternal conflicts with an old worker who hates sloppy work. Magda falls in love with a young railwayman, but love doesn't turn out as she hopes...
